- The world’s first wooden supercar has been unveiled – and it’s faster than a Porsche or a Lamborghini, designed by Joe Harmon the “Splinter” car is entirely made from a combination of maple, plywood and MDF, it weighs just 1,134kg – some 240kg less than the super lightweight Porsche.
- There’s an official Guinness world record for “World’s Most Dangerous Tree” and it’s held by the Manchineel tree from the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico, the Manchineel’s bark is covered in sap that causes skin to blister and can blind a person if it gets in their eyes. Even standing under the tree in the rain can cause blisters because the sap will drip onto skin.
- The largest area of forest in the tropics remains the Amazon Basin, amounting to 81.5 million acres, that’s 329819 Square Kilometres, and just to put things in perspective the United Arab Emirates is 83600 Square Kilometres.
